911 Communications Center

The Egg Harbor Township Police Department operates a state-of-the-art Communications Center that provides 911 service and emergency communications for the public safety agencies of Egg Harbor Township and the City of Northfield.

The Communications Center is staffed by individuals trained in call-taking, emergency medical instructions, and CPR. Communications Officers answer calls from the public via 911 and other sources, and dispatch appropriate Police, Fire, and EMS agencies. They also have the responsibility to operate specialized systems and equipment, such as radio base stations, offender databases, and alerting systems. Full-time operators are augmented by a part-time workforce that provides supplementary manpower where needed.

The Communications Center is organized under Services Bureau Commander.
