Background checks for Egg Harbor Township
To have a background check completed, please print & fill out the "Background Release form" and bring it to the police department with your identification.

Accident Reports
Take 5-7 days from the date of the accident to be available for pick up.
Public Records Fees Pursuant to NJSA 47:1A-1 :

- Pages 11-20 $0.50 per page

Additional Fees for Accident reports requested thru the mail are as follows:
- Pages 1-3 will be assessed an additional $ 5.00 fee
- Each additional page will be assessed a $1.00 fee.
*An additional fee for the price of postage will be added to the final cost unless a self addressed stamped envelope is received with your request.

Police Reports
Depending on the information requested an Open Public Records Form may be required. To print a form click on "Open Public Records form", fill it out and bring it to the police department with your identification. .

The fee for Discovery will be in accordance with New Jersey State Law and Egg Harbor Township Municipal Ordinance No. 47 of 2004.
For discoveries that are requested to be mailed, they will be assessed an additional $0.25 stationary fee and be charged for the price of postage .

Effective Immediately: Municipal Tow Lot Normal hours of operation are 8:30am-7:00pm
**Vehicles shall only be released between 8:30 am and 7:00 pm**

In order to remove you vehicle from the Egg Harbor Township Municipal Tow Lot (located at 6120 Mill Road, Egg Harbor Township), you must follow the steps below:
1. You must first contact the Records Bureau to find out who towed your vehicle. ( This information may have been provided to yo uat the scene by the Officer handling your towed vehicle)
2. You must then contact the Tow company to satisfy their tow charge.
3. You will then bring your paid tow receipt to the police department showing payment has been made.
4. You will also need to bring with you the current registration and insurance card for the vehicle and your identification.
5. At the Police Department you will satisfy the storage bill which has accrued at $15.00 a day from the date your vehicle was towed.
6. You will also need to have a tow truck or other appropriate means of removal with you at the time the storage is satisfied.
7. If you are releasing your vehicle to your insurance company or to another individual, a Vehicle Release form must also be signed. Click on "Vehicle Release form" to print one. This can be dropped off or faxed. If you are faxing your information, please call the Records Office at 609-926-4055 to inform them the fax is being sent. The fax number is 609-926-4191.
The storage fee is $15.00 per day starting from the date of tow. The storage charges will continue to accrue on a per day basis until you remove your vehicle from our premises.
If we do not hear from you within the 5 business days from the date of tow, a complaint may be filed for abandonment of a motor vehicle under Chapter 39:4-56.5 of the Motor Vehicle and Traffic Laws. This may result in a fine of not less than $100.00 nor more than $500.00, your license or driving privileges may be suspended or revoked for not more than two (2) years and the vehicle will be disposed of along with any and all contents at a public auction.
